HIAS is recruiting a Global Safety & Security Analyst to strengthen its global security capacity and operational risk management. The role supports all functions of the Global Safety & Security Department, from intelligence gathering and analysis to crisis response, policy development, and training.
Based at the organisation’s headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, the post may also be considered for New York. It offers a strong analytical and coordination focus across HIAS’ worldwide network, helping to ensure safe programme delivery in complex environments.
Key Functions
The Analyst will:
- Monitor and assess global and regional threat trends, covering geopolitical, criminal, and natural risks.
- Conduct security risk assessments and prepare monthly threat briefings.
- Coordinate incident reporting, online threat tracking, and geolocation monitoring.
- Support the development of policies, risk management tools, and security training.
- Contribute to crisis management planning, investigations, and operational support.
Profile
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Security Management, Intelligence or Risk Analysis, or Criminal Justice, with five to seven years of progressive experience in humanitarian or international security work. A Master’s degree and previous NGO or corporate sector experience are preferred.
The role requires advanced analytical ability, fluency in English, and skill in using data and open-source intelligence tools. French or Spanish is advantageous. Strong professional integrity and effective communication are essential.
